Atilio Pernisco

Born Santa Monica, CA, USA 1969

Today Pure and decadent, excessive and na?ve, raw and sophisticated, the paintings of Atilio Pernisco reflect the inner world marked by a constant state of turmoil. “I paint in order to find the truth that lies hidden within me,” he explains. “I remember fishing off the coast of Napoli three centuries ago.”

Yesterday Although he was born in the United States, he spent his childhood in Liniers, a working class barrio in Buenos. As a teenager he migrated to Los Angeles, an American citizen with the perspective of an immigrant, a perpetual foreigner in the land of plenty. Later he became a student at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. These days, Pernisco continues to paint at a frantic pace, working in a variety of media and exhibiting his work both in Los Angeles and Argentina.
